I already knew from past experience that I LOVE weights, it's cardio I HATE!! I started walking 6k a day on some crappy shoes and it was brutal; shin splints, sore knees, the whole bit. I finally sucked it up and bought new running shoes. Were the socks that he tried to sell you Thorlos? Cuz if so they are totally worth the $12. ;) You should try to find some on ebay (new of course) and treat yourself to them on your long run days. They're AWESOME. <BR/>We have a Bowflex but I've never used it. My husband has tried to talk me into it several times. I have always hated running. Only liked exercise when it involved kicking, hitting or dribbling a ball around. But since there's not a big demand on the sports teams for an out-of-shape mom in her 30's, well I guess I'd better just get my ass outside and start running. <BR/><BR/>Hope you're back out there pounding the pavement soon. Of course, this has led to heels spurs and orthotics, and I must also where decent running shoes most of the time. And those Running Room double socks are very good for helping to prevent chafing and blistering.
